Wendy Buttery (500 Hours with the Yoga Alliance)

Wendy has been teaching yoga for the last 7 years and is well known to Ibiza viitors after spending the last few summers teaching at Ibiza Yoga on Benirras.

Wendy has been on her own journey with yoga for the last 12 years,
studying with Iyengar and Ashtanga teachers from the UK, India and the US as
well as Hatha teachers from Sri Lanka and Australia. Teaching for the last 7
years Wendy trained with Nicky Knoff in Cairns, Australia, a master teacher with
over 35 years of experience having trained with the yoga greats (Pattabhi Jois
and Iyengar) for many years. Nicky proved to be a wealth of knowledge and
inspiration. After further study with international Ashtanga teachers and time
spent in Mysore studying the primary series, Wendy uses elements of Ashtanga
series one and two in her teaching style. The emphasis however is to create a
fun yet rewarding vinyasa class for students in retreats and workshops around
the world.
Further exploration of  pranayama techniques Wendy has a deep understanding of the breath and the  importance of expansion and conservation of prana within the body. Meditation is  also a key part to Wendy’s classes and she is keen to explore the importance of  stillness as well as the dynamism of asana. Wendy is able to teach students who  have no or little understanding of yoga, taking them through the basics of  practice and also provides challenging classes to those who already have a  regular practice.

"Travelling the world and teaching in seasonal places have been a fantastic experience for me - meeting so many new faces and cultures has opened me up to the world. But at some point this lotus needs to find its roots. Ibiza is a wonderful island with the right attitude to accept people in the mood for nature, warmth, yoga, great food and above all to develop an inner calm in a peaceful environment. So I have managed to find my "pad" and want to open it up to people who would like to experience the serenity and joy you can find in natural places."

Neil Allen - Chef/entrepreneur

Neil Allen has worked in many businesses in his lifetime, owning restaurants in Switzerland and a cafe in London's Borough Market. Neil traveled the world, the wanderlust eventually leading him to Ibiza where he worked in restaurants and is better known as a personal chef to people staying on the island in private villas and for large events such as weddings, large parties.  Much in demand for his culinary skills and his charm and "can do" attitude, Neil has decided to use his positive attitude and love of food to cook for those who really appreciate health and well-being. A recent yoga convert has seen Neil change his diet to become largely vegetarian and a joy of preparing "live food" for people who can understand and feel the benefits of it.

Neil is also instrumental in the build and maintenance of this Lotus Pad. As a lively raconteur you will no doubt hear some of his amazing stories during your stay.
